Hogs Wallow

Hogs Wallow offers outreach for anyone who loves open spaces, nature and the beautiful countryside with all of the wildlife that the South Downs has to offer.

You may enjoy countryside walks and watching circumstantial rescue animals go about their daily routines, or perhaps just enjoy a relaxing and peaceful picnic with family or like-minded people.  Please reach out if you would like to come down and join us on a sunny day.

We have sufficient public liability insurance. This covers everything, including public rights of way together with buildings, animals and third-party.

We are looking into merging with another local community group where safeguarding measures and compliance will continue to be in place. Our volunteers include teachers, Sports coaches, mental health practitioners, Church Sunday School / youth / adult group volunteers, and counsellors. This is a not for profit local village group offering friendship and outreach.  We also have many “happy” hen, ducks / Peacock eggs available too, so please do ask!

So keep an eye on our social media pages for our new “Eat, Walk, Pray” sessions coming soon and dates to be published when the weather is suitable. These activities are open during warmer months or school holidays and are mostly off site in public spaces and are open to all ages equally, No Charge.

Volunteers and helpers for the rescued animals always welcome. Come and get involved.

We love meeting new people and hearing your stories. We all have one!

About the Community

We love our community!  Including those with disabilities or living with mental health or anyone struggling. Hogs Wallow Community Group is located in Pound Lane, Upper Beeding, West Sussex. We have rescued various animals from dark pasts, including horses, ponies, sheep, goats, kittens and peacocks.

You are invited to bring your own lunch for a picnic on a sunny day. There is no schedule!

Our Mission Statement

Our aim is to share the wonderful mental health benefits of various animals and rescues through nature. We are often asked to help additional animals, or even offer allotment space or enrichment with owning your own hens via space with us, so please ask and do get involved. We love to share and there is much nature and views to be enjoyed. We are qualified sports teachers in addition, with enhanced DBS checks, intensive safeguarding training plus First Aid qualifications, as well as church committee supporters and many years experience of supporting children and adults, but this is a very part-time / temporary venture due to busy lives and weather, so please reach out for details and availability.
